The Land of Applause Cheer Boo Hiss

Indie rock band 'Land of Talk' from Montreal, Quebec have a new album (ep) on store shelves today entitled "Applause Cheer Boo Hiss". Fronted by Elizabeth Powell's voice, Land of Talk could and should really open some eyes to this trio. They will be touring with Wintersleep and Contrived to promote the new cd in London, Toronto and Montreal (April 6-7-8) before heading south continue their journey. The Reading and Leeds Festivals (a.k.a. The Carling Weekend) are to big weekend music festival that take place in Reading, England and Leeds, England respectfully. They recently revealed their lineups for this year festivities and as usual some big name acts will be present to show off their stuff.

Portland, Oregon's Quasi released their seventh album entitled "When the Going Gets Dark" through Touch and Go Records on March 21st. The duo of Sam Coomes (singer/guitarist/keyboardist) and Janet Weiss (drummer/singer) have come together for music and marriage (later divorced) but have always had the same goal in mind, producing great music. Matt Schild of Aversion talks to Quasi about their latest album.
