The Black Heart Procession Spell It Out

San Diego, California's depressing and gloomy indie rock band The Black Heart Procession have lived on the dark side since late 1997 with no intension of breaking out from under the murk. However of the odd day the five piece band will surface to spread the gloom onto other via song and sound. With the release of their fifth full length album on May 9th entitled The Spell listeners can hear that the band is increasingly maturing yet still maintain the less then pleasurable music the most expect to experience from their sound system. Just listening to the samples that we got our hands you can't help but find yourself feeling isolated, depressed, and miserable, however there was still something there that had use wanting to hear the next track.

From what we understand of their sound and style and from little exposure we have of the band if you enjoyed their last label Amore Del Tropico, then this new release is right up your lane. Below is a track entitled Not Just Words which can be found off the new album:

Chihei Hatakeyama :: Minima Moralia(Kranky Records)
Released: February 21, 2006

:: If you arelooking for something completely different for your CD collection then look no further then the latest release by Chihei Hatakeyama - Minima Moralia. As a member of the computer oriented electro acoustic genre, which is very active in Tokyo, "Minima Moralia" is a carefully thought out album with sounds generated by computer programming and live performance. We can tell you one thing, you probably don't have an album like this in your home library. Even more impressive is the fact that Chihei Hatakeyama played electric guitar, acoustic guitar, vibraphone and electronics, mixed and mastered all to get the sounds to our ears. Here are what other think about the album as well as some sample tracks.

My Dad vs Yours Is Like Winter And Spring

Ottawa, Ontario has something special to show the world and it comes in the form of a relatively rookie band called My Dad vs Yours. Don't get me wrong when we call them rookies as their sound is far from a rookie season. The music that these guys are putting out will have your ears enjoying their post-rock instrumental sounds not only pleasing but also enchanting at times. That's right, don't expect to pop in their new LP entitled After Winter Must Come Spring to hear heart felt poetic lyrics but you will find that the instruments will speak volumes in absence of a lead voice. Can instrumentals actually incite a sing-along?

If anyone should know the sure pleasure of the arrival of spring its these guys coming from Ottawa. Producing the album (LP) through the winter it was only fitting that the album be titled as such with the arrival of tulips and the annual tulip festival.

We were not able to find any MP3 tracks off their latest LP "After Winter Must Come Spring" but here are some tracks from EP, "Winning Hearts and Minds"

Canyons (Grand or Otherwise)
Law of unintended consequences

Check out My Dad vs Yours' MySpace page to hear some track samples from their upcoming album.

If you are in the Cambridge, Ontario area this evening you just might hear the odd sing along from Fiddlers Green. It's the last stop before their big CD release party in Ottawa at Babylon on May 6th.

Muse have announced the title of their next ablum, their fourth in their discography. You will be able to find the album on store shelves on July 3rd under the name "Black Holes and Revelations"
